Unveiling hidden gems and must-see attractions

In Dalarna, Mora and Orsa there is plenty to discover. Everything from larger more popular sights to small local gems. Here we have gathered some places to visit in the immediate area that we think you should visit at least once in a lifetime!

Siljan Geopark
Many have heard of the Siljan Ring - the area around Siljan that was created by a meteorite impact 380 million years ago. When the comet struck sharply, rock moved and cracks were created in the bedrock. In the present day we can see the traces of this meteorite impact around Siljan. Siljan Geopark is a park where we can see unique geological natural phenomena that have arisen as a result of the impact. One of the most popular places to visit in Siljan Geopark is Dalhalla outside Rättvik.

Storstupet and Helvetesfallet
A bit east of Orsa Grönklitt we find the popular places to visit Storstupet and Helvetesfallet. Helvetesfallet is a canyon formed in Ämån and there are, among other things, 30 meter high rock walls that surround the river. About 5 kilometers below Helvetesfallet we find Storstupet which is also a deep canyon in Ämån. Unique to Storstupet is the railway for the inland railway that passes via a bridge 34 meters above the river. Here is the opportunity to grill your own food in the nearby fire pallet hut.
