Lace Up Your Boots and Find Your Calm in Orsa Grönklitt

The beauty of hiking lies in its simplicity. A pair of trainers and a backpack with a thermos and some fika are all you need for a lovely day trip. If you’re looking for a bigger challenge, we can help you with the right equipment at the Cross-Country Centre, where you can also rent walking poles and child carriers.

The Siljan Trail (Siljansleden) passes through the area, and just a few kilometres away you’ll find Fryksås fäbod, offering sweeping views over Lake Orsasjön and Lake Siljan. Another popular tip is the trail around Lake Rädsjön – perfect for a peaceful nature walk at a relaxed pace.

Want to raise your heart rate? Try Söderbacken for a steep challenge or Mellanbacken for a longer climb. If you prefer gentler terrain, there are also several flatter routes to choose from.

In late summer and autumn, the forests also offer mushrooms and berries – nature’s own pantry just outside your door. Need equipment or tips on routes that suit you? The team at the Cross-Country Centre will be happy to help. And don’t forget to bring some fika from Baka Kaka before you head out.

A family hiking through a sunlit forest with pine trees and lush greenery on a summer day.
