Here at Orsa Grönklitt, we continue to invest and develop our resort to create even better and more varied winter experiences for our guests. Ahead of the 2026/2027 winter season, we are taking several new steps – in our alpine ski area, on our cross-country trails and in the experiences beyond the skiing itself.
We continue to strengthen our snow reliability through increased snow storage and more efficient snowmaking, while also developing our alpine skiing with more skiable terrain, improved access between the ski areas, and new and enhanced experiences on the slopes.
For cross-country skiing, we now offer up to 140 km of trails and are launching a new partnership, bringing a new cross-country ski school and the opportunity to book private cross-country ski lessons. Our youngest guests can also look forward to a brand-new play area when Blåbärslyan opens – an inspiring space for play, creativity and activities.
Dalaplus is also expanding this winter, offering even more skiing with the addition of two ski days in Funäsfjällen.
We are now building a brand-new snow storage area with the capacity to store more than 30,000 cubic metres of snow. At the same time, our existing snow storage area is being expanded to 28,000 cubic metres, creating even better conditions for an early cross-country skiing season opening during the 2026 autumn break and for reliable snow conditions on our cross-country trails.
From 2027, Orsa Grönklitt will have a total snow storage capacity of more than 60,000 cubic metres of snow.
Alpine skiing here at Orsa Grönklitt continues to develop. Following last winter’s major investments, we are now taking the next step, with a focus on improved snow reliability, better access between the ski areas and even more skiing.
Last winter, we introduced several new features to our alpine ski area. The new Fikabacken and Äventyrsbacken slopes were equipped with snowmaking, while Äventyrsbacken was filled with playful features – including Sweden’s first cinnamon bun on a ski slope. We also opened a brand-new Snowpark, which quickly became a popular addition among our guests.
Ahead of the coming winter season, we are continuing to develop our alpine ski area. At Södertoppen, access is being improved to make it easier and smoother to ski between our different ski areas – Söder, Norr and Öst.
Between the Norr and Mellan ski areas, slopes are being widened to create a better skiing experience. At the same time, a former transport route is being developed into a new blue run, giving our guests even more skiing and a more enjoyable way to move through the ski area.
This winter, our cross-country ski school is run in collaboration with Almgren Coaching. Whether you are a beginner, want to improve your technique or are training for a race, there are lessons suited to your level. Choose between group lessons and private lessons in classic skiing and skate skiing.
This winter, we are launching Snowpark, a brand-new ski school group for young skiers who want to discover or develop their park riding skills. The group is perfect for both beginners taking their first steps in the terrain park and those with some experience who want to progress further.
The focus is on building a solid foundation with safety, control and confidence at the heart of every session, while developing technique and learning new tricks together with our experienced instructors.
Ahead of the winter season, we continue to enhance the cross-country skiing experience at Orsa Grönklitt. With new trails, improved routes and upgraded infrastructure, we're creating even more opportunities for recreational skiers, elite athletes and families alike.
✔ New trails: Berget Runt 11 km, Blåbärsmyren 3 km and Kallbolsrundan 3 km.
✔ Kallbolsrundan will feature a new route, creating a continious loop, and will be renamed Kallbolsmyren.
✔ Several of our cross-country ski trails will recieve new names to make the trail system clearer and easier to navigate.
✔ Utsiktsspåret will be extended from 6 to 7 km, passing through and alongside the new Sjögläntan accomodation area.
✔ Gröna milen will hade a new roure for its first 150 meters.
✔ The track to and from Fryksås will be widened to accommodate both classic and skate skiing. It will also be open for dog-assisted skiing.
✔ Our children's ski playground at the ski stadium is being further developed for our youngest guests.
✔ We are also improving the trail signage, making it even easier to find your way around the trail network.
