We invest in more snow-sure winters

At Orsa Grönklitt, we continue to invest in giving our guests even more reliable snow conditions and outstanding skiing experiences. Ahead of the 2026/2027 winter season, we are making several major investments to strengthen our snowmaking and snow storage capacity.

By combining new technology, expanded snow storage and more efficient snowmaking, we are creating even better conditions for an early season start, high-quality ski slopes and cross-country trails, and a consistently great winter experience throughout the season.

New and expanded snow storage

We are building a brand-new snow storage facility with the capacity to store more than 30,000 cubic metres of snow. At the same time, our existing snow storage area is being expanded to hold 28,000 cubic metres, creating even better conditions for an early cross-country ski season starting during the 2026 autumn holidays and ensuring reliable snow throughout the winter.

From 2027, Orsa Grönklitt will have a total snow storage capacity of more than 60,000 cubic metres of snow.

More powerful snowmaking and increased capacity in Söderbacken

We are installing a brand-new high-capacity pumping station together with 10 new state-of-the-art snow cannons. This investment enables faster and more efficient snowmaking whenever weather conditions allow, strengthening both our alpine ski slopes and cross-country ski trails.

We are also upgrading the snowmaking system in Söderbacken to ensure excellent snow quality on both the ski slopes and the lift routes.

Investing in the future of winter

For us, snow reliability is about more than technology—it's about giving our guests confidence when planning their winter holiday.

By continuously investing in our snowmaking and snow storage systems, we can offer first-class skiing throughout the season, whether you prefer miles of perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails or beautifully prepared alpine slopes.

New ski school group – Snowpark

This winter, we are launching Snowpark, a brand-new ski school group for young skiers who want to discover or develop their park riding skills. The group is perfect for both beginners taking their first steps in the terrain park and those with some experience who want to progress further.

The focus is on building a solid foundation with safety, control and confidence at the heart of every session, while developing technique and learning new tricks together with our experienced instructors.
